9 Months

Better late than never.  Sawyer turned 9 months a couple weeks ago...crazy!

Her 9 month pictures didn't go quite as I had planned.  There was a lot of trying of climb off the chair...

Clapping...

Standing...

And even a little of this.

She has definitely started to let us know when she is not getting her way!  The day after she turned 9 months, we discovered that Sawyer could still pull up in her newly lowered crib...all the way down it went.

She is pulling up on ev.ry.thing.  She has also started walking around the ottoman and is getting braver by the day now, only holding on to things with one hand.

She is a speed crawler - all over the house all the time.

Sawyer is a great eater.  She tried a lot of new foods during August - pineapple, cantaloupe, honey dew, pinto beans and lima beans.

She eats 3 meals plus a snack every day and takes 4 6-8 oz bottles.  She gets pureed baby food at school and finger foods for dinner at home.  Some of it makes it into her mouth.

The rest of it makes it into Lori's mouth.  She is really starting to be interested in Sawyer!  Sawyer thinks it is hilarious to feed Lori.

School is going very well for Sawyer, she gets so excited - kicks her legs and has a huge smile on her face every morning when we get there.  I went to see her one day and she was totally uninterested in me being there while she was trying to play with her friends.  She is always bringing home all sorts of art projects - this one was painting with apples.

I love that her school sends us pictures of what she does during the day.  They also sent me this one of her playing peek-a-boo...by herself.  One of her favorite games...

And thats her classroom.  Sawyer also started "coughing" during this past month.  If she hears anyone cough, she immediately has to cough too.  And kissing...she is a kissing machine.  Lori is much more interested in the Sawyer that is sitting in her high chair.

In between all the craziness of August we spent a day in College Station to celebrate my mom's birthday and Aunt Pee-Pee, as Cora calls her, moving to Aggieland.  We had lunch at my mom's fav restaurant Fuddrucker's.

And, Sawyer rode her first horse.

She is a great little shopping buddy...except that she doesn't like to sit the right way in the cart.

We were shopping at the mall one day and ran into Aunt Cara - great surprise!!  We are counting down the days until Baby Logan joins us =)

The day before she turned 9 months old, its a little hard to tell in this picture, but she stood up on her own!  I'm not sure she knew she was doing it.  She did it a few times that night and hasn't really done it since.

Sawyer has 2 teeth, wears size 6-9 months, size 3 diapers and size 2 shoes.  At her 9 month appointment she weighed 17 lbs 6 oz (24th percentile), was 28.5 inches long (79th percentile), and her head measured17.25 inches (44th percentile).

Every month is more fun than the last and she is more and more entertaining by the day!  One of her very favorite things to do is dance with her activity table.  Every once in a while she will even copy us when we say "dance, dance, dance" and say da-da-da.  I can't even begin to explain her dance moves in words so I will end with this video...

Baby's First Preseason Camp

August is a crazy month for me at work.  Football, soccer and volleyball preseason camps and all the eating that goes along with it makes for very long days.

I am very fortunate to be able to have Sawyer in school right here on campus so I can pick her up and come back to work.  I am even more fortunate that she is a trooper and makes that easy on me!  I would pick her up and we would come back to my office and go to practice, eat dinner, and go for walks on the track.

Helping me check the weight report

Checking out the protein bars

Exploring the weight room

Passing out electrolytes

Taking a nap in my office
I am so thankful to have such an easy going baby; I was nervous about how August was going to go this year.  Also very thankful for such a supportive family and husband that came into town to hang out with Sawyer and kept her on the weekends so I can do the job I love.
