Easter Weekend 2015

What a great Easter weekend we had this year!  The kids are both at such a fun age, Ty just getting around and into everything and Sawyer really starting to understand what Easter is all about.  We spent Good Friday in Yoakum hunting eggs, working cows (not me), and hanging out with family.

On Saturday, we had our traditional Easter lunch and, egg dying and egg hunt at Grandma Cowan and Papaw's.  After a great meal, we hid hundreds of eggs and both the kids found prize eggs!  And, no Easter egg hunt is complete without a game of Easter egg baseball.

We came back Saturday afternoon because we had a wedding to attend that evening.  It was the most beautiful backyard wedding for my friend Bailey and her now husband Clay.  We really enjoyed the night out!

On Easter Sunday, we went to church and then had brunch at my parent's house.  And this picture is just my favorite.  It is so ridiculous.

We had a huge, wonderful lunch and then went for our first swim of the season.  In the heated hot tub.

We finished off our Easter Sunday by spending the prize egg money on a family ice cream date!  Because we hadn't eaten enough allllll weekend...

It was a great weekend and I am eternally thankful for all the family that we get to spend these holidays with reflecting on our faith and making memories with our kiddos!!

Ty's "Wild One" Party

We had Ty's first birthday party the Saturday after his birthday.  We went with a western theme of cowboy hats and bandana print.  I intended to just to a small party with some family, but ended up inviting lots of people and I'm glad we did!  We had a nice afternoon with great weather and good food celebrating our Ty-Ty.  Barry's mom made the cutest cupcakes and I made Ty a dairy-free, soy-free smash cake so he could still enjoy a treat on his birthday.  It took some convincing for him to dig in, but he eventually did and loved it!  I think he had a great day.

I'm so happy he got into his cake because it was definitely a labor of love to make!  Thanks to everyone for for coming and to everyone that helped...it was a special afternoon!!
