Pumpkins & Halloween 2013

I love fall!  The cooler weather, the football, the clothes, the candy…….

Becky and I had plans to take the girls to Dewberry Farms to pick out pumpkins, but of course it rained that day.  I ended up taking her one afternoon - mostly because I felt bad for making her get a flu shot and the pumpkin patch is right next to her doctor.

We went to this same pumpkin patch last year, but what a difference a year makes.

Last year, she wasn't quite walking.  This year, she was running, climbing and kept saying "I see MORE!"  Since we went in the afternoon she basically had the whole place to herself and she had such a blast!

She ended up picking out 2 small "punkins."  One for "Sigh-er" (she still calls herself that) and one for the baby.

Since we picked out pumpkins that were too small to carve, Barry surprised us one night when we came home with big pumpkins ready to be carved!

She made that spider hat in school and insisted on wearing it.  It was the perfect night to sit outside and carve them.

It was all fun for Sawyer until we put the candles in and lit them.  She is TERRIFIED of fire so then she didn't want to go anywhere near the dining room where the pumpkins were.

Without the fire, she was ok with them.  On Halloween, I was trying to take her pictures before we left and she wanted to sit in her "punkin patch" to do so.

She was a princess for Halloween.  The headpiece that came with her costume wouldn't stay on her head, but she obviously needed a crown so we improvised with a sparkly headband.  They had a parade at her school that morning, which she loved.

It had to be done inside because of the rain, but Sawyer had so much fun running through the halls.  Every once in a while she would turn around and yell "Ginia!" (her teacher's name is Miss Virginia) because she wasn't going fast enough for Sawyer - who did not even notice I was there.

That night we had a football game so Sawyer wore her costume and got to trick-or-treat at the stadium. Football & candy - two of her favorite things!

The costume didn't last the whole game, but fortunately we brought the pumpkin because that was a big hit!

And, the Coogs won so that was a nice bonus!

Baby B #2: Update #2

Just a quick update on how this pregnancy is going…nothing new to report, fortunately.

15 Weeks

We did go to the doctor during the 15th week for a quick check in.  We listened to the heart beat and that was about it!  We have been taking Sawyer with us to "check the baby" because we go in the morning on the way to work - her face lit up when she heard the heart beat - it was so sweet!  The most exciting thing about week 15…I chopped my hair off.

We didn't take pictures in week 16 - Barry was out of town hunting.  But, I did feel the baby move during this week which is such a cool feeling.  I felt this baby move a little sooner than Sawyer, which the doctor said would happen.

Week 17 brought about a little belly!

17 Weeks

I am still feeling pretty good, starting to feel a little bit more physically tired but I guess I am almost half way there.  And the heart burn is starting…Side note: Sawyer is potty training - hence the no pants and random outfits in half these pictures - its just easier that way.

18 Weeks

Barry felt the baby move in Week 18, on his birthday actually!  This baby is super active…constantly moving, especially after I eat.  I don't remember Sawyer moving this much - fortunately they are still just little flutters with occasional kicks - no swift kicks to the ribs quite yet!  But all in all, things are going well!
