16 Months

This was the easiest monthly photo shoot yet!  I asked Sawyer if she wanted to take pictures and she climbed into her chair and said "cheeeeese!"

Just like that...

March was the month of "what's that."  It was constant!!

She is so curious about everything.  When we answer her "what's that" she usually tries to repeat whatever word we answer with.

Of course, no photo shoot would be complete with out props.

March was busy with RodeoSpring Break and Easter...which pretty much made up Sawyer's 16th month.  She did have her school pictures in March though...

Yes, that is her...the ONLY one not looking in the class photo.  She is officially in the toddler class and she is doing great.  She sleeps on her little cot and eats her meals and snacks at a table sitting in a chair. She comes home with a new art project every day.

She thinks she is one of the big kids and wants to do everything that everyone else is doing, at school and at home...

But she is still does things to remind me that she is still my baby!

She LOVES to read her books...and climb on the furniture...

sitting in her green chair and carrying around a cup at all times...

Lori and sharing her snacks with Lori...

and stickers.

She also really loved this honey bear at the grocery store one day...she wouldn't stop kissing it!

She is really starting to express her opinion and what she wants...including what she wears.  She has quite the sense of style.

We were going out to run errands one afternoon and Barry and I were both wearing hats.  She insisted that she wear a hat too and kept this on the whole time.  She looks like such a little kid to me in this picture.

She weighs about 23 pounds and still has 12 teeth.  She is starting to become quite the picky eater and has apparently decided to be a vegetarian.  She won't have anything to do with meat of any sort.

She loves playing "side" in her house and on her slide.

She is still into necklaces and jewelry.

Each month is more and more fun, she is such a happy, sweet girl!

We love you squeaka!

Easter 2013

Easter stated off a little rough this year for Sawyer.  She was TERRIFIED of the Bunny.  I was pretty surprised by this considering her obsession with stuffed animals, I guess it doesn't carry over to GIANT moving ones.

I tried...

Barry tried...

No such luck.  And, this is what we ended up with...

Classic.  Fortunately, things picked up from there.  Eventually, we hope that Sawyer will know and appreciate all that Easter is really about, but this year...it was all about the eggs!  She had an egg hunt at school on Thursday and when I picked her up they told me she was like a linebacker out on the playground trying to get eggs.  When they told me to make sure I took her eggs home, they made sure to point out that her bag was the really full one...I knew we were in for an entertaining weekend!  We set out to Yoakum on Friday morning and Sawyer had her own personal egg hunt at Grandma & Grandpa's...

Saturday we spent the day at Barry's grandmas house.  Sawyer was having so much fun that she was totally uninterested in taking a nap so we had to driver her around...but not before a quick stop to visit the cows...or "moooo" as Sawyer calls them.

Somehow she was scared of the Easter bunny, but not the thousand-plus pound giant black cow mooing at her.  After a wonderful lunch, it was time for another egg hunt.

We had a great day hanging out with family!  Of course, if there is a wagon AND eggs involved it is a great day in Sawyer's book.

We came back home that evening...Sawyer had such a busy day she was asleep before we even got on the highway.

When we got home, Sawyer had received some Easter cards in the mail.  She was so funny about them...she was shaking because I couldn't open them fast enough and then she carried them around the house like they were stuffed animals.

My dad had to work on Easter Sunday so we cooked out and had a nice dinner with him Saturday night.  Sunday morning we went to church with my mom and Brie and then out for lunch.  Sawyer had a blast running around and trying to climb into the fountains.

Another fantastic weekend and holiday in the books!

Spring Break 2013

I still like to pretend I am in school and take a Spring Break every year.  Although they are spent quite differently now!  The first weekend of spring break Sawyer and I took a road trip through College Station to get Brie and on up to Dallas to Mimi's house.

I love going up to Dallas, but it is always a whirlwind of things to do so that we can see everyone.  Friday night we met up with Eric & Brittney for dinner.

After we slept in on Saturday...

we went for a quick shopping trip.  Can't go to Dallas and not go shopping!  Then it was off to a baby shower...it was so great to see high school friends, even though it was a quick visit!  And now they are both mommies with super sweet babies!

That night, we met up with my college room mate Emily.  Out little girls are 2 1/2 weeks apart and they were so funny to watch together!

Can't wait to get them together again!  Sunday I was back on the road to Houston with my great road trip company.

Thankfully, Mimi joined us so she kept me company!  Monday we went out to lunch to celebrate...

M.E. & BUELO MOVED TO HOUSTON!!!

And Sawyer is so excited!

She basically wore that headband around all week while she helped us unpack and organize.

In between her napping and playing with Cora of course.

And shopping with M.E.

Barry and I celebrated our 4th anniversary and since we had babysitters in town we went out for an awesome dinner!

Sawyer enjoyed pizza with her grandparents and great grandparents...in her PJs.  I just love this picture.

We spent the final weekend of spring break in Yoakum for a wedding.  Sawyer had so much fun running around at Granny's with this balloon...

We had a great time at the wedding

Sawyer especially loved the cake - another friend who is now a mommy to a precious baby girl!

Sawyer is seriously a grandpas girl and is obsessed with babies so she was in heaven hanging out with Grandpa and getting to play with Logan.

Over all it was a fun week!  Full of lots of rest...

Lots of accessorizing...

And lots of stickers.

Even Lori got to have some spring break fun with her dog friends...
