Rodeo 2013

If Houston were to actually have 4 seasons, Rodeo would be the 5th.  It is a big deal here.

The Rodeo starts sometime in the end of February and lasts about a month.  Last year we didn't do anything rodeo related, but this year we made up for it!

Rodeo season kicks off with Go Texan Day.  Sawyer's school celebrated with western wear and a parade.

Sawyer also got to go to her first rodeo and concert during the first week.  My dad and I were supposed to go see Zach Brown band together and he came across an extra ticket last minute so Barry and Sawyer got to join as well.  We met him at his office, then headed just down the street to Reliant.

It was a rough start.  She didn't love the fireworks.

And the bronc riding was way too boring for her.

But then came the wagon races and the barrel racing.

She loved it.  Every time one of the barrel racers would run back into the tunnel she would shrug her shoulders and raise her hands wanting to know where they went.  And then came the concert.  I was a little worried about how she would do because it was SUPER loud in there...but she didn't seem to be bothered by it at all.

A couple songs in, and she was out!

I got to go back to the rodeo the next week to see Jason Aldean.  Anyone else been to a Jason Aldean concert with their grandma lately??

Mimi, my mom, Brie & I went one night when they were all in town for Spring Break.  It was the first time any of them had been - such a fun night!

The last concert of the year was...

My dad was nice enough to give us and Becky & Michael his tickets - and babysit Sawyer!  The concert was phenomenal and we had so much fun!

It was a fun season...until next year, Rodeo Houston.
