I kept reading all these posts on social media on Mother's Day, and Father's Day for that matter (I can include that since I am so behind here!), from people saying that their mom and dad are the best. I kept thinking to myself "No, mine are." Like a 4 year old. But, I just think it is so amazing how God gives us the best parents for ourselves, not for anyone else. So, maybe it isn't so much of me being like a toddler and saying, "No, mine!" - one of Sawyer's favorite phrases, by the way, but truly knowing that my parents really are the best for me and my sisters.
It isn't a competition to be the "best mom ever" but more a challenge to be the best parent for the children you are blessed with.
I can only pray that I can be the best mom for this bow-loving little girl that has brought so much joy to my life, and that she will always think that I am the "best" because I certainly think she is.
And just a little Mother's Day performance by Sawyer:
